Treatment

Treatment The sources of finance have been mostly by Attack Promo as well as private funding and endorsement from History Channel, Johnny's Military equipment. The Deadlines are close but the projects can easily be completed within time. we have a small team of personnel and talent that re highly skilled for the project the small size also make the group easier to manage as well as cheaper

Music video Ideas

Idea 1) Animation, Surrealism, Dark and oppressive mood, no narrative, performance shots of the band are edited in photoshop and final cut to be given a animated look to fit the imagery this suits the song because it references the Pro War except we use them sarcastically to make them anti war. We expect the imagery to surprise the audience and draw them in sometimes giving them literal visuals of the lyrics.

Idea 2) naturalistic/ cheaper/ Narrative:The viewer follows the band as they visit the historical locations (battlefields, Museums) that have something to do with World War 1 this will be spliced with performance shots of the band playing in a field full of poppies. This suits the music because we are showing the audience what inspired the artists to write the song

Idea 3) Stylized (Black & White) / Movie like, Special effects (Expensive) / Narrative:To follow a young man as he goes to war during world war 1 and his experiences. This suits the music video music video well as the audience is following the story of the young soldier as he tells hem in the song what he experienced giving the audience visual representation of the lyrics. This may cause the video to be age rated.

Keyframing in lesson

2 days ago we learnt how to use keyframing were we created an MTV style pop up on our video to give it an added sense of realism. We created this effect by opening our chosen picture in Photoshop and creating our pop up icon/ident. After we created it we saved it as a TIFF and dragged it into Final Cut to add it to the time line. We placed the icon/ident over our chosen point in the time line and then used keyframing to have the icon move during the video. I had mine dirft in from the bottom left of the screen pause then exit through the bottom right. This effect I will find useful later on in editing when we do our next music video.

SHRED LOGO FINISHED

FORMAT: Jpeg suitable for small website pictures and can be seen on almost all computers the format can be changed by Me to fit many different sizes.

COLOURS: The colours I chose for the logo fit the mood and feel of the station perfectly. The colours Red and Black are rebellious colours that fits both our audience and the music that SHRED plays. the colour choice makes it stand out from it fellow stations as SHRED is the polar opposite to VIP in its music and audience.

FONT: The bold red font represents the rough and harshness of the station unlike V.I.P's regal style of font shred is rebelliousness is shown in its font proudly showing its character.

In Finale I believe that SHRED's audience will enjoy the logo as it clearly stands out from its competitors. Its rock and metal music is well represented by the colours and font and the general style. I also have the logo in a vector graphic so it can be used for billboards and other large scale designs.

.V.I.P. Logo Finished

This is a Jpeg of the complete VIP logo again this is perfect for being sent around the company to get everyones view on the logo and get their feedback

COLOURS: The Purple, Gold and White colour scheme suits the expensive luxury style mood the station is going for to make the audience feel 'In' and feel like a 'V.I.P'

FONT: The font i chose fits the ivy league style that the station is going for the full stops between the Letters adds to the importantness that this is .V.I.P. and that means the best for our listeners.

My finale thoughts on this logo is that it makes the shows what the radio station wants to play what is popular here and now and make the listeners feel well looked after like a VIP.I also have the file in a bitmap file format that can be used on smaller scale merchandise

Pulse Logo Finished

This is a Jpeg format of my Pulse logo. It is perfect for a website and other small prints plus because it is so versatile I can send to anyone in the company for analysis.

COLOUR: the colours I chose to use fitted the dance club feel we were going for perfect any house party or clubbing event the black and bright green contrast well and help the logo stand out

FONT: The font I chose had a very high tech look to it and fitted well with the techno and dubstep music style I wanted the font to stand out from the background yet not have it black so i chose a dark green for contrast

I believe the colours look and font style fit the target audience and music we shall being playing on PULSE and the fans will love the logo.I also have the logo in PNG format so it will fit perfectly on a website because of its quick load times

Step by step guide of the creation of the logos

This is a 5 step guide on how I created the Logos for my Radio stations. All the logos were made in a identical way in this case we are looking at the shred logo. I started by creating a new transparent lay out for psd. 20cm long and 30cm high. With this canvas I used a circle tool for the first layer as seen in image 1. To keep the circle in the correct shape I dragged out the circle while holding down shift.I then set the colour for the new layer as black using the colour selector at the top of photo shop. I then created a second layer using the circle tool that was smaller than the first layer. To keep the proportions the same as the first layer I used the Shift+drag to create the desired shape. After I did this I moved the shape into position over the first circle to create the effect of the border. In image 2 you can see I then changed the layer colour to a deep red to contribute to a violent rock look. One of the things I noticed during the creation of these idents was the border size between the two circles was not consistent. Sometimes this distance was far different that the others because I could not make them visually similar. I then decided I would create the two layers once and save them three times. I then pallet swapped these files for the other idents this stopped the problem of the different size borders.

exporting the work (Unit 32 Task 3)

Once we finished editing our work we exported our complete version the handing in folder once our complete version was exported we went onto safari and began to upload our video onto YouTube on our class account 12lcm called our names and then 'The Grid Ident'.

editing the work (Unit 32 Task 3)

We are coming to the end of our editing and Kelly has done is very cool job editing our film with help from me and George. With the variety of shots, music and sounds we have we had more than enough to work with. The ident has a Guerilla style music video look to it with the dance music playing through out the vid relating to the type of channel the ident is for. To create this Kelly used a lot of video effects and other editing techniques playing around with the lighting and colours as well as slowing down and speeding up the video. Once we Finnish this we can upload it to YouTube and then get feed back from the public as well as each other.

Uploading all the work (Unit 32 Task 3)

We all uploaded our work to the new imovie and then moved it to the older version for editing with the amount of shots we had it took a while to upload all of them but its done and now we can start editing.

Filming of our Ident (Unit 32 Task 3)

during the filming of our ident we decided to film in the meeting room in the 'J block' We had our story boards and filming equipment ready and set up and began filming earlier than expected we managed to shoot our shots within 2 lessons. This put us ahead of our shooting schedule so we started shooting additional shots and reshot old ones the next lesson. During our filming we kept coming up with different ideas of what we could shoot or do during the editing so we ended up with twice of the amount of shots we intended to have. We were able to shoot so much because the room was quite and had little distractions giving us the means to shoot a lot in little time. In final I am very pleased with how our shooting went as well as what results we had.

‘The GRID’ Ident revisions and decisions (Unit 32 Task 3)

We were set this assignment at the beginning of the year our task was to create an idea for a series of idents for a new channel ‘The GRID’. It was a music channel that would also feature both American and British TV shows such as ‘Family Guy’ and ‘Skins’ with a targeted audience of males and females aged 18 to 30. I was put into a group with George Proctor and Kelly Wooldridge. We all immediately started planning by doing spider diagrams on what our target audience would enjoy and find entertaining in an ident. We decided on an energetic, musical party theme for our idents as it fitted with both the shows featured on the channel a well as the target audience.

During the planning stages of our idents we split up into 2 separate groups Kelly and George planned Ident 1while I planned the ident 2. When I finished planning Ident 2 George and Kelly had planned the storyboard, the shooting schedule and were preparing to shoot the ident. The story of the ident takes place in a working environment were people are trying to complete the rubiks cube passing it around the table without anyone being able to complete it. We wanted this to be funny to the our viewers who are working young adults who would find the fact that people at work are getting stressed over the rubiks cube instead of dead lines and hours.

Early in our planning we decided we wanted a rubiks cube in our idents because it associates with the word grid and is multi coloured. This was supposed to be a similar iconic logo as the red circular objects in the BBC1 idents. After we were finished shooting our ident we started our work on music, title, and editing. As soon as we finished filming I went hunting for dance music (because its energetic and gives the viewer that party feeling) I found some on Freesound.com that seemed to fit what we were looking for we agreed on it and began editing it into our ident.

At the same time George began working on the title for ‘The GRID’ on live type we wanted the background of the title shot to have the Rubiks cube. We also wanted it to be multi colourful so it fit in well with the rubiks cube in the background. When he finished Kelly then added this to her edited cut of the ident. Kelly also did a fantastic job editing the ident her choices of effects and piecing together of the shots. The effects she used really emphasized the theme of a party as well as playing with the playing speed of the clips. We are all proud of this ident and the way it turned out and are pleased to see the positive feedback.

Ident 3 location (Unit 32 Task 2)

We chose these locations for our ident because there areas we chose kind of look like a town centre or some sort of administration buildings were the hero 'Griddy Boy' is accepting his award for defeating we also thought the locations would also help show that the event is being televised by the local news station.

Ident 3 story board (Unit 32 Task 2)

Ident 3 takes place in the same universe as the other idents in the ident the superhero 'Griddy Boy' arrives in Grids vill to complete the impossible rubiks cube. He ends up completing the rubiks cube and is awarded by the mayor with a certificate with the words 'the grid' on it. While this is going on the event is being covered by Grid news as seen in the story board.

Ident 1 Plans (Unit 32 Task 2)

Music

After we uploaded and began editing the ident we discussed what type of music we would like in our ident we decided on some dance club music and I went onto www.freesound.com to look for highly energetic dance music. this relates to our channel because it is also shows music videos of different types of music plus the song fitted the mood of the ident.

Editing

as soon as we uploaded our raw footage into imovie we began to edit it and look for music. We wanted our channel to have a 'if you gotta work then might as well party' attitude. the video effects we wanted to use would be the same as the ones you would see in a music video. The quickness of the cuts and transitions between shots match our fast paced music this means our ident will have steady rhythm and flow.

Title

Our idea for our title was for it to fit into our rubix cube but after it breaking we decided to just create a title card we used square/grid like font that wee all agreed fitted with the rubix cube.

ident plan1 location choice (unit 32 Task 2)

we chose the meeting room because everyone has a room like that at the work place where they have briefs and presentations this is one of the most boring aspects of any job. So we thought it would be humorous to young adults to see an ident take place in a similar work environment where the only thing you can think about is what your gonna do as soon as you leave work or at least make the work place look like a party.

Ident plan1 storyboard and costume (Unit 32 Task 2)

We chose this people for our ident because they are from our target age group so they canrelate to the target audience we also have to boys and one girl so the both men and women have someone to relate to the cloths they are wearing will be of the similar style they will be weaing in the ident which are popular among our target audience.

Ident plan2 ideas (unit 32 task 2)

Location description

The location we chose to work in (J03) is commonly empty and quiet to work in. The table is easy to work around a table and the black card will act as the background for our film so the wood or surrounding carpet will not be present. The camera we will set above the table to get the still shots we need.

Casting Mascot choice

I chose to use two mascots a young man and woman that appeal to our target demographic who are both male and female of the same age group as the mascots. I wanted the characters to have a ‘spy vs spy’ feel to them because of the varying types of music and shows that will be shown on the channel and represent how audience may differentiate. I also wanted them to have a sense of humor and activeness to them so they match the mood we want the channel to portray. I believe that our audience will like the mascots because of their conflict and the fact they are the same as the audience we are aimed at.

Music and sound

At the start we are going to have silence then it is broken by our mascot whistling a tune then it goes silent again when he sees the logo and then we will have a small 10 clip of a popular song.

On screen graphics

The on screen graphics will be drawn and cut out and then shot by our camera on the black background so we will not be using live type or any other program.
